Soy supplements do not appear to improve asthma
Soy supplements do not appear to improve asthma (May 29, 2015 - Insidermedicine) From Chicago - Taking soy supplements does not improve asthma, according to research published in JAMA. Researchers studied nearly 400 adults and children aged 12 years and older. Participants had poorly controlled asthma and were taking either corticosteroids or leukotrine modifiers, but none were consuming soy. They were then randomized to take either a soy isoflavone supplement 2x a day for six months, or placebo. Results showed that, in contrast to previous research, the soy supplements did not improve lung function or symptoms of asthma
