Possible connection between ADHD and air pollution (November 7, 2014 - Insidermedicine) From New York - A new report published in PLOS ONE finds that ADHD may be linked to air pollution. Researchers studied over 200 nonsmoking pregnant women, following participants until their children were 9 years old. They found that children who were born to mothers who experienced high levels of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) during pregnancy were at 5x increased risk of demonstrating ADHD symptoms at 9.
