Poor health, lack of exercise affects memory, even in younger adults
Poor health, lack of exercise affects memory, even in younger adults (June 9, 2014 - Insidermedicine) From California - A new report published in PLOS ONE finds that poor health, lack of exercise and high blood pressure raised risk of memory problems, even in younger adults. Researchers studied nearly 19,000 individuals between the ages of 18 and 99 years, examining risk factors for memory problems such as depression, inactivity, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity and smoking. They found that depression, low education levels, physical inactivity and high blood pressure raised risk of memory problems for all age groups. Depression, in particular, was the strongest risk factor.
