Moderate coffee consumption may lower type 2 diabetes risk
Moderate coffee consumption may lower type 2 diabetes risk (November 18, 2014 - Insidermedicine) From the UK - According to research released by the Institute for Scientific Information on Coffee, moderate coffee consumption may reduce risk of type 2 diabetes. Results of the intitute's annual diabetes report found that drinking 3-4 cups of coffee a day was linked to a 25% reduced risk of developing type 2 diabetes, when compared to those who drank less than 2 or none a day. Researchers also found that this result was consistent for those who drank decaf as well, suggesting it is not th ecaffeine responsible for the reduced risk.
