Hormone replacement therapy linked to acute pancreatitis (January 28, 2014 - Insidermedicine) From Sweden - Hormone replacement therapy may raise risk of acute pancreatitis, according to a report published in CMAJ. Researchers studied data on over 31,000 postmenopausal women, aged 48 years at the outset of the study. Participants were followed for 13 years. Results showed that those who currently or previously used HRT were at 1.5x increased risk of acute pancreatitis when compared to those who never used the therapy at all
