Exercise may make teen girls less likely to join a gang or be violent

(May 7, 2013 - Insidermedicine)

From New York – Teen girls who exercise are less likely to be violent or join a gang, according to a report presented at the Pediatric Academic Societies annual meeting. Researchers reviewed data from a 2008 survey examining over 1,300 students from four inner-city schools. 56% of respondents were female. Results showed that females who reported exercising regularly were less likely to be in a gang, to carry a weapon, or be involved in a fight.
