Commonly prescribed painkiller ineffective for back pain (December 15, 2014 - Insidermedicine) From Rochester - A commonly prescribed painkiller is not actually effective at reducer lower back pain, according to a report published in Neurology. Researchers studied a group of individuals with lumbar spinal stenosis, having participants take either pregabalin or placebo and then report pain levels while walking on a treadmill. They found that there were no differences between the pregabalin and placebo group, in terms of the pain they experienced.
