Children with autism more likely to have gastrointestinal issues
Children with autism more likely to have gastrointestinal issues (March 27, 2015 - Insidermedicine) From New York - According to research published in JAMA Psychiatry, children with autism are much more likely to have gastrointestinal issues. Researchers studied a group of children taking part in a large longitudinal study, having their mothers complete questionnaires when the children were 18 and 36 months of age. Results showed that children with ASD were 2.5x more likely to have persistent GI symptoms when compared to those with a typical development. They were also more likely to have GI symptoms than children with development delay.
