Arginine may play role in Alzheimer (April 15, 2015 - Insidermedicine)
From North Carolina - The amino acid arginine may play a role in Alzheimer’s disease, according to a new report in the Journal of Neuroscience. Using a mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease, researchers found that a type of immune cell called microglia, consume more arginine. They found that by blocking this pathway, there was a reduction in brain plaques, and the mice performed better on memory tests.
