Those at highest risk of cervical cancer also least likely to be offered HPV vaccine (March 19, 2014 - Insidermedicine) London - Those most at risk of cervical cancer are also least likely to be offered the HPV vaccination, according to a report published in Sexually Transmitted Infections. Researchers studied over 2,200 young women between 13 and 19 years old. Participants were attending sexual health clinics. Results showed that those most at risk of cervical cancer--girls who smoked, had sex under the age of 16, and had previous STIs--were least likely to be offered the HPV shot.
