Stroke survivors at raised risk of cancer
Stroke survivors at raised risk of cancer (February 19, 2015 - Insidermedicine) From Minnesota - A new report presented at the International Stroke Conference, stroke survivors may be at raised risk of cancer. Researchers studied over 3,200 individuals over the age of 35 who had suffered a stroke. Results showed that stroke survivors over the age of 50 were 1.4x raised risk of developing cancer within two years. Stroke survivors who developed cancer were also at 3x increased risk of dying from cancer, when compared to stroke survivors who didn't develop cancer.
