Report identifies several risk factors for low back pain (March 30, 2015 - Insidermedicine) From Ohio - A new study presented at the 2015 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons identifies several risk factors for low back pain. Researchers reviewed the health records of over 26 million patients, 1.2 million of whom had low back pain. Results showed that people with depressive disorders, nicotine dependence, obesity, or alcohol abuse were all at statistically significant relative increased risk of low back pain.
