Over 8 hours of sleep may raise risk of stroke (March 2, 2014 - Insidermedicine) From Cambridge - A new report published in Neurology finds that people who sleep over 8 hours a day are at raised risk of stroke. Researchers studied nearly 10,000 individuals between 42 and 81 years old. Participants were taking part in a long term study for 9.5 years. Results showed that those who reported sleeping over 8 hours a day were at 46% increased risk of stroke, and that those who slept less than 6 hours were at 18% increased risk.
