Over 13% of Canadian soldiers deployed in Afghanistan developed mental disorders
Over 13% of Canadian soldiers deployed in Afghanistan developed mental disorders (July 2, 2013 - Insidermedicine) From Ottawa - A significant amount of Canadian soldiers have developed mental disorders after being deployed to Afghanistan, according to a report published in the CMAJ. Researchers reviewed data on over 30,000 military personnel deployed outside of North America or Europe between 2001 and 2008. They found that 13.5% of those who served in Afghanistan were found to have a mental disorder related to their deployment.
