More than one third of US adults may have metabolic syndrome
More than one third of US adults may have metabolic syndrome (May 22, 2015 - Insidermedicine) From California - Over one third of all US adults are estimated to have metabolic syndrome, according to research published in JAMA. Researchers reviewed data from 2003-2012 taken from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. They found that from 2003-2004 to 2011-2012, overall prevalence of metabolic syndrome increased from 32.9% to 34.7%. They also found that 50% of those over the age of 60 were estimated to have the condition
