Melanoma rates decreasing in children
Melanoma rates decreasing in children (April 10, 2015 - Insidermedicine) From Cleveland - Incidence of pediatric melanoma is decreasing, according to a report published in the Journal of Pediatrics. Melanoma, an aggressive skin cancer, has been found to be increasing among US adults over the past few decades, with previous studies also finding increases among children and adolescents. In this new report, researchers studied data from national cancer registries, examining new cases of pediatric melanoma from 2000-2010. They found that the number of new cases decreased by 12% per year from 2004-2010.
