Measuring PSA changes over time improves detection of aggressive prostate cancer (January 15, 2013 - Insidermedicine) From California – Measuring PSA levels over time can improve detection of aggressive prostate cancer, according to a report published in the British Journal of Urology International. Researchers retrospectively reviewed health records of over 200,000 aged 45 and older. All of the men had at least one PSA measurement and were free of prostate cancer. Results showed that annual changes in PSA results more accurately predicted aggressive prostate cancer than just one measurement. Detection of prostate cancer overall, however, was only marginally improved
