Laughing gas not linked to heart attack (June 19, 2013 - Insidermedicine) From St. Louis – Laughing gas is not associated with heart attacks, according to a report published in Anesthesiology. Researchers studied 500 surgery patients suffering from coronary artery disease, heart failure, or other problems known to raise risk of heart attack. Participants all received nitrous oxide, and half were randomized to received vitamin B12 and folic acid. Results showed no difference between the two groups with regards to heart attack.
