(March 6, 2013 - Insidermedicine)

From Norway - Insomnia raises risk of heart failure, according to a report published in the European Heart Journal. Researchers studied over 50,000 individuals between 20-89 years of age. Participants were followed for an average of 11 years. Results showed that three specific insomnia symptoms--trouble falling asleep, trouble staying asleep, and not waking up feeling refreshed--raised risk of developing heart failure threefold.
