Indoor tanning greatly raises risk of melanoma, even without burn (May 28, 2014 - Insidermedicine) From Minnesota- Indoor tanning increases risk melanoma, even in the absence of a burn, according to a report published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. Researchers compared over 1,100 melanoma patients to 11,00 matched controls. After accounting for risk factors, researchers found that melanoma patients who reported no lifetime burns were nearly 4x more likely to be indoor tanners than controls.
