In Depth - Wait Times in Canada - Dr. Karen Gulenchyn, MD

(December 5, 2007 - Insidermedicine) On November 26th and 27th, 2007, health care and policy experts from across the country were invited to help write the prescription for managing wait times for health care at the "Wait Times in Canada" conference, co-hosted by Kingston General Hospital and Queen's University.
At the conference, we had a chance to speak to Dr. Karen Gulenchyn, MD. Dr. Gulenchyn is currently the Chief of the Department of Nuclear Medicine at the Hamilton hospitals. Prior to Dr. Gulenchyn assuming her current position, she practiced Nuclear Medicine at the Ottawa Hospital. Her practice has encompassed all areas of nuclear medicine, including general and cardiac nuclear medicine in both the adult and pediatric population and radionuclide therapy. Dr. Gulenchyn has served in many leadership positions within the Canadian nuclear medicine community and has also been privileged to serve as a member of the Canadian Medical Association Board. She is also the author or co-author of over 40 peer-reviewed publications.
