Hot flashes at a younger age may indicate risk of heart disease
Hot flashes at a younger age may indicate risk of heart disease (March 11, 2015 - Insidermedicine) From Pittsburgh - Hot flashes at a younger age may predict risk of heart disease, according to a report presented at the American College of Cardiology's annual scientific sessions. Researchers studied nearly 200 peri- or post menopausal women, having participants wear a monitor for a day to quantify their hot flases. Results showed that more hot flashes over the 24 hour period were associated with poorer endothelial function--one of the earliest signs of heart disease--in younger women.
