High-fat dairy linked to worse survival in breast cancer patients

(March 15, 2013 - Insidermedicine)

From California – According to research published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, high-fat dairy consumption may worsen survival in breast cancer patients. Researchers studied nearly 2,000 women, following participants for an average of 12 years. Women were asked how often they ate dairy and what type. Results showed that those who ate one serving or more per-day of high-fat dairy had a 64% increased risk of dying from any cause and a 49% increased risk of dying from their breast cancer during the study period.
