High blood pressure while pregnant may predict future heart disease

From Maryland - A new report published in Circulation finds that high blood pressure during pregnancy may predict heart disease later in life. Researchers followed a group of women who had given birth in 1940. 1/3 of these women had at least one high blood pressure measurement during their pregnancy. Results showed that those who had any high blood pressure during pregnancy were at 14-100% increased risk of heart disease later in life and 2-5x more likely to die from a heart attack, when compared to those who had normal measurements during pregnancy
