From California - According to a policy statement published in Circulation: Heart Failure, the costs of treating heart failure are expected to double by 2030. Researchers estimate that the number of Americans with heart failure could increase from 5 million in 2012 to 8 million in 2030. As a result, the direct and indirect costs of treating the condition are expected to double--from $31 billion in 2012 to $70 billion in 2030
