Genetic screening for breast cancer risk
Genetic screening for breast cancer risk (April 10, 2015 - Insidermedicine)
From London - According to research published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, screening for genetic risk factors could help identify women at risk of breast cancer. Researchers studied over 65,000 women, developing a score for each woman based on her DNA code. This score, known as the polygenic risk score, was found to be associated with breast cancer risk. Those in the top 20% of the score were at 1.8x increased risk of breast cancer.
