Exercise good for diabetes, even in the absence of dietary changes
Exercise good for diabetes, even in the absence of dietary changes (June 26, 2013 - Insidermedicine) From the Netherlands - According to a report published in Radiology, exercise can benefit type 2 diabetics even in the absence of dietary changes. Researchers studied 12 type 2 diabetes patients with an average age of 46. Participants underwent MRIs prior to and following six months of a moderate intensity exercise program, consisting of up to 6 hours per week. Results showed that the exercise significantly reduced fat around the heart, liver and abdomen in the patients--though cardiac function was not affected.
