Effectiveness of medication in lowering IOP
Effectiveness of medication in lowering IOP (February 7, 2014 - Insidermedicine) From Baltimore - A new report published in JAMA Ophthalmology examines the effectiveness of medication used to treat intraocular pressure. Researchers studied over 600 patients with primary open-angle glaucoma. Participants were using up to 3 medications for their disease. Researchers examined participants IOP while using their IOP lowering medications, and again 2-4 weeks after not using these medications. Results showed discontinuation of 1,2, and 3 medications resulted in clinically significant increase in IOP.
