From California - Stroke survivors who suffer from depression are significant increased risk of death, according to a report presented at the annual meeting of the AAN. Researchers studied over 10,000 individuals aged 25-74, following participants for 21 years. After accounting for risk factors, researchers found that those who suffered depression after surviving a stroke had a 3x increased risk of dying from any cause when compared to those who were not depressed.
