Colon cancer rates drop significantly among older US adults (March 19, 2014 - Insidermedicine) From Washington - A new report published in CA: A Cancer Journal for Clinicians finds that colon cancer rates have dropped significantly in the US over the past 10 years. Researchers studied data from the National Cancer Institute's Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results Program, as well as data from the CDC. They found that colon cancer incidence rates dropped by 30% among adults over the age of 50 in the past ten years. The decline was greatest among individuals over the age of 65. Researchers believe this decrease can be attributed to widespread use of colonoscopy
