Children of smokers more likely to become smokers themselves
Children of smokers more likely to become smokers themselves (May 13, 2014 - Insidermedicine) From Georgetown - Children of parents addicted to smoking are much more likely to become heavy smokers themselves, according to a report published in Pediatrics. Researchers studied over 400 parents and their children between 12-17 years old. Participants were interviewed at the outset of the study, while the children were interviewed at 1 and 5 years after. Results showed that the more years that a child was exposed to their parent's smoking, the more likely they were to begin smoking themselves.
