Childhood cancer survivors at heightened risk of chronic health conditions in adulthood (June 12, 2013 - Insidermedicine) From Tennessee – Childhood cancer survivors are significant increased risk of chronic health conditions in adulthood, according to a report published in JAMA. Researchers studied nearly 2,000 childhood cancer survivors with a median age of 32 years, and a median time from diagnosis of 25 years. In this cohort, 98% of participants had a chronic health condition in adulthood. The cumulative prevalence of chronic conditions by age 45 was 95%.
