Better psychosocial experience in youth linked to better health later in life (January 14, 2015 - Insidermedicine) From Finland - Positive experiences in youth may be linked to better heart health later in life, according to research published in Circulation. Researchers studied over 3,500 children between the ages of 3 and 18 years. They measured six factors in the children--socioeconomic status, emotional stability, parental health behaviours, stressful events, self-regulation of behavioural problems and social adjustment--then followed up with the children 27 years later when the participants were 30-45 years old. Results showed favourable psychosocial experiences in childhood was linked to better cardiovascular health in adulthood.
