Atrial fibrillation linked to memory and thinking decline
Atrial fibrillation linked to memory and thinking decline (June 6, 2013 - Insidermedicine) From Alabama - Atrial fibrillation may be associated with memory and thinking problems, according to a report published in Neurology. Researchers studied over 5,000 individuals aged 65 and older. Participants were followed for an average of seven years and received annual tests measuring their thinking and memory skills on a 100 point scale. Results showed that individuals with atrial fibrillation were more likely to score lower on these tests, and at earlier ages, than those who did not have the condition.
