Antidepressants in pregnancy may raise risk of childhood obesity (June 24, 2014 - Insidermedicine) From Hamilton - According to a report presented at the meeting of the International Society of Endocrinology and The Endocrine Society, using antidepressants during pregnancy may raise risk of childhood obesity and diabetes. Researchers studied an animal model, finding that use of SSRIs during pregnancy resulted in increased fat accumulation, as well as liver inflammation, in the offspring.
